Why I Had To Re-Design The Website. Again

It seems every couple of months I have the urge to re-design the Indie Handmade website. Shuffle a few things about and give it a fresh new look. And usually it really is just because I want to give myself something to work towards. A sense of achievement. And because I truly enjoy it.

This time, however, I do have more valid reasons for the re-design, the main one being a change of shopping cart provider.

Many tweaks had to be made in order to get the previous one to work how I needed it to. It made any future alterations nigh on impossible and updating a nightmare. Plus it seemed to slow the site down greatly.

I’m now in shopping cart bliss thanks to WooCommerce. And here’s why it benefits you:

1 Step Checkout
My previous shopping cart took 5 steps just to get to the payment page. WooCommerce has only 1.
Easy Integration
Because everything works beautifully together with minimal fiddling, I can use my time creatively. Meaning more jewellery making for you!

I will probably post a more thorough analysis of WooCommerce a little later down the line. But for now, I have a website to re-open!
